Towns End Bar and Grill

The Towns End Burger

Towns End likely has the greatest potential of any restaurant in the High Desert. The décor is kind of an industrial/steam punk vibe. Lots of steel and wood. Visually the place is amazing.

We’ve had mixed experiences with wait times, but the staff are always very friendly.

The food is kind of hit-or-miss.

On our most recent visit we both had sandwiches. I had the Towns End Burger – 8oz Beef patty, thick cut pork belly, cheddar cheese, tomato, pickle, onion and house sauce on a brioche bun. My wife had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich – Homemade buttermilk fried chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and house sauce on a pretzel bun.

My burger was good, but I’d rather have applewood smoked bacon rather than thick cut pork belly.

The crispy chicken sandwich was disappointing. It seems like they put the lettuce on the bun while it was still quite wet from washing. Needless to say the bottom of the bun was a soaked mess.

On the upside, the new owners have pared down the menu and seem to be trying to speed up service.

Although I didn’t try it this time, I do love mesquite grilled steaks. Maybe next time.

The food is pretty good, but the prices are a bit much.
